Yes, I sold my Dodge station wagon several years ago, with a hole in the center of the roof where my ball mount had been installed. I plugged the hole with silicon caulk.
It was not really noticeable unless you stood on tiptoes and looked at the roof.
The guy who bought the car looked at the hole, felt the plug with his hand, and
seemed unconcerned about it and never mentioned it.
